My area of specialization lies at the intersection between analytic ontology and philosophy of science (especially philosophy of biology and environmental philosophy). I have written extensively on biological species and biodiversity, as well as on the nature of social objects. In the last three years, I've worked as an FCT Research Fellow at the Center for Philosophy of Science of the Faculty of Science of the University of Lisbon. I have been Visiting Scholar at Columbia University and visiting post-doc at IHPST, CNRS/Paris 1/ENS, Paris. I am PI of the project "BIODECON. Which definition for biodiversity conservation?".
