Obiettivi formativi
Questo corso intende chiarire il ruolo della nozione di forma logica nell'analisi del linguaggio naturale, spiegando come questa nozione è stata elaborata nella tradizione analitica a partire da Frege, Russell e Wittgenstein, e illustrandone le implicazioni rispetto ad alcuni problemi fondamentali di logica filosofica.
This course intends to clarify the role of the notion of logical form in the analysis of natural language, by explainin how this notion has been elaborated in the analytic tradition, starting with Frege, Russell, and Wittgenstein, and by illustrating its implications with respect to some fundamental problems of philosophical logic.

Alla fine del corso gli studenti dovranno sapere:

- qual è il ruolo della nozione di forma logica in alcuni problemi che riguardano l'analisi degli enunciati quantificati, i condizionali, e gli enunciati temporali
At the end of the course the students will know:
- the main lines of research that characterize the origins of analytic philosophy
- how the sentence of a natural language can be formalized in a first-order language
- how the notion of logical form matters in some problems which concern the analysis of quantified sentences, conditionals, and temporal sentences

Il corso si divide in due parti. La prima ripercorre la storia dell'idea di forma logica, dall'antichità fino ad alcuni testi classici della tradizione analitica. La seconda presenta alcuni problemi fondamentali di logica filosofica, illustrando la centralità dell'idea di forma logica.
The course has two parts. The first goes through the history of the idea of logical form, from antiquity to some classical works of the analytic tradition. The second presents some fundamental problems of philosophical logica, and illustrates the centrality of the idea of logical form.
